For Grown-Ups

Join the #808Reads virtual summer reading program to read, learn, & play all summer long!

The virtual program will include a reading challenge, access to the Sora shared eBook collection, live virtual author visits, online book discussions, and other engaging and fun summer activities selected especially for elementary, middle, and high school students by a team of certified school librarians.

The objectives of the program are to:

  • provide enrichment and acceleration opportunities;

  • reduce learning loss over the summer;

  • increase family engagement in developing literacy; and

  • acquaint students and families with library services.

Parents and students may sign up to participate in the Summer Reading Challenge! Registered participants will receive customized reminders and be eligible for rewards and recognition.

Meet Maddie Frost

At a young age Maddie drew funny characters from her favorite TV shows. She imagined her own characters and began drawing them and telling their stories.  When she grew up, she realized she could "release the inner wonder of wackiness" and tell stories as a job!  Learn more about Maddie on her website & be sure to join us Tuesday at 10:00 for stories, drawings & giggles!
